Dr. Kevin E. James

Dr. Kevin E. James is a higher education administrator, executive business leader, academician, and motivational speaker. He serves as President of Kevin James Unlimited Education Group where he works with educational organizations as a consultant. He has worked with the United Negro College Fund as consultant and speaker for its Empower Me College Tour. Previously, Dr. James served as Academic Dean and campus Chief Academic Officer of Herzing University in Atlanta, Georgia, a private non-profit, career-focused institution of higher education. He was responsible for academic quality by promoting the mission and providing effective academic leadership and oversight of all academic operations, instruction, assessment, faculty training and professional development. He supervised six School Chairs, 50+ faculty/staff, and ensured compliance with all accrediting and licensing agencies.

Additionally, Dr. James has served in several capacities ranging from classroom instructor to administrator at various higher education institutions including posts as Academic Dean and Chief Academic Officer of Strayer University (Columbus, Georgia) and ITT Technical Institute (Columbia, South Carolina).

Dr. James is a native of Columbia, South Carolina where he attended C.A Johnson High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and Social Sciences from Winthrop University, a master’s degree in Business Management, Leadership, and Organizational Effectiveness from Troy State University, and a doctorate in education and Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He is also a graduate of the Higher Education Institutes at Harvard University.

Dr. James is committed to community service and has membership in numerous fraternal organizations/associations, including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Incorporated, the Prince Hall Masonic Fraternity, #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club, and 100 Black Men of Atlanta where he serves on the Executive Board of Directors and has served as Chair of Mentoring, and Vice Chair for New Member Training. He also served on the Board of Directors of Girls Inc., located in Columbus, Ga., and was a career-readiness speaker for college students with the United Negro College Fund. Additionally, he has numerous non-profit leadership experiences in international associations and fraternal organizations as an advisor and regional director.
