Stan is a former Commander (Major) with the Atlanta Police Department where he served for 31 years. He is currently the President and CEO of the B and A Consulting Group, which specializes in public safety, special event logistics, public/private partnerships and coalition building. Stan also currently serves the NBA Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club and Philips Arena as its Traffic Coordinator.

Stan is a 21 year member of 100 Black Men of South Metro, Inc., where he served as President of the Chapter (2013 -2015) He has, and currently serves in various board and committee related roles. In addition to his role as Southeastern District Representative of 100 Black Men of America, he is serving in his 18th year as Director of Security for the organization as well. He also serves on the South Fulton Advisory Board for the United Way of Metro Atlanta.

Stan’s career has been diversified and filled with accomplishments. He has worked in many areas of the police department to include the uniform division and investigations. He has excelled in the area of security and special event logistics; to include traffic and crowd control. He has supervised and/or heavily participated in the coordination of over 1500 major events in Atlanta, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He played a major role in special event management during the 1996 Olympics. Stan has lead numerous community engagement initiatives with the City of Atlanta and the Department of Justice to promote healthy neighborhoods youth enhancement initiatives.

As a former commanding officer with APD, he has spearheaded a number of initiatives to enhance technology and emergency communications in the Atlanta area. He is a former board member for the Georgia Chapter, Association of Professional Communication Officials, (APCO) and the Georgia Traffic Incident Management Enhancement Team (TIME). He has also served as a core team member of the Atlanta Urban Area Security Initiative Tactical Interoperable Communications Group. Stan has served as a Subject Matter Expert (SMI) for the Smart Policing Initiative in Washington DC and as a consultant on various public safety and security initiatives. Stan is a graduate of The National Urban Fellows’ America’s Leaders of Change Initiative. He is a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Professionals (NOBLE).

Stan has received numerous commendations and awards throughout his career for his efforts in public safety and community service. He is the 2014 recipient of the coveted 100 Black Men of America’s Wimberly Award; given annually to an individual in the ‘100’ Chapter network who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and community service. Major League Baseball has previously recognized Stan as the Most Valuable Resident Security Agent in the US while working with MLB and the Atlanta Braves.

Stan has studied at Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA) and currently holds a B. A. in Public Administration from Brenau University (Gainesville, GA). He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. (Columbus, GA)
