Rev. Jewett L. Walker

Rev. Jewett L. Walker, Jr., is a man who wears many hats. He is Pastor of New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, President and Chairman of the Board of the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, a Senior Advisor to Los Angeles School Board Member Dr. George J. McKenna III, President of a political consulting firm. ( and a promotional products distributorship (

On Dr. McKenna Staff, his responsibilities include being a Liaison for schools in the Dorsey and Crenshaw Complex, and Dr. McKenna’s office. Also, he is a Liaison for LACES and Hamilton High School. He also has communication and political responsibilities and works directly with members of the Faith-Based Community.

He is a former Board Chairman of the Southeast District of the American Red Cross; Member of the New Frontier Democratic Club; Advisory Board Member United Negro College Fund; Life Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and a host of other community-based groups and organizations. He works tirelessly in mentoring underserved students throughout Los Angeles County.

Rev. Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Long Beach in Speech Communications with a minor in Personnel Management; A Master’s Degree in Divinity with an emphasis in Church Administration from Ministerial Training Institute; and is a Doctoral candidate.

He is married to Sandra Black Walker, a retired school administrator and has 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
