POTENTIAL IS EVERYWHERE. OPPORTUNITY IS NOT.

Without Internet access at home, millions of America’s high school students do not have the same opportunities to achieve their full potential.

The mission of the 1Million Project Foundation is to help 1 million high school students who do not have reliable Internet access at home reach their full potential by giving them mobile devices and free high-speed Internet access.

Without access to these free devices and service, for many of these students the go-to solution is to do their homework at fast-food restaurants, where the Wi-Fi is free. Other students spend hours in restaurant parking lots. Many also wait in long lines at libraries to secure the time online to complete their homework. Again, this isn’t fair, it isn’t right and it doesn’t need to happen.

Partnership with The 100

The 1Million Project Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with 100 Black Men of America! The underpinnings of this partnership with the 1Million Project Foundation and 100 Black Men of America are the shared interest in students, increasing access and equity through education, as well as improving academic outcomes for high school students. The 1Million Project Foundation partners with school districts across the nation to equip eligible high school students with a device (hotspot, smartphone, and tablets where available) free of charge to the family and the school to support them with their academic endeavors. As the 1Million Project Foundation enters its third year of operation, currently serving 226,000 students, the goal of supporting 1 million high school students with internet capable devices becomes a reality.

The 1Million Project Foundation acknowledges the success of the Greater Atlanta community in expanding 21st century learning for all students and specifically chose to invest through the Go Big Atlanta initiative. This initiative provides additional devices, support, and resources to the Atlanta school district partners to ensure the effectiveness of programming at each individual district. As a result of the partnership between the 1Million Project Foundation and 100 Black Men of America, 500 students will have reliable internet access throughout their duration of their high school experience. This outcome prepares students in the Greater Atlanta community to excel in their academics, develop competent social skills, and greater awareness of post-graduation opportunities
